The building was previously leased to the community group Inspire Focus for use as a community hub, but this ceased around 2019.

In 2018 a grant of £38,000 was awarded to complete urgent repair work on the building.

In October 2020, plans were announced for major repair work to be carried out on the building, part-funded by the Town Council. Other funding would be sought from Historic England.
