Lady Gentle Meadow

Lady Gentle Meadow is a public grassed area on Spring Walk in Thetford.

The land was left to the people of Thetford as an area for children to play on by Lady Gentle's husband in her memory. It is owned and managed by the The Lady Gentle Memorial Charity, whose sole objective is to make the land in question available as a children's playground during the period 1st April to 31st October. There is no proviso that play equipment must be installed and the position remains that the land is deemed public, open, recreational space. The sole trustee of the Charity is Thetford Town Council. In practice, the Town Council takes responsibilty for maintaining the land on the Charity's behalf.
