Nuns' Bridges Path

The Nuns' Bridges Path is a project by Thetford Town Council to improve pedestrian access around Nuns' Bridges. The plan is to improve the path from Ford Meadow to Nuns' Bridges Road along the southern bank of the River Thet, and create a new path along the eastern side of Nuns' Bridges Road to link this path with the cycle path opposite Spring Walk. The work includes upgrading the bridge over the stream at the north-west corner of Ford Meadow, and installing a new bridge adjacent to the middle Road Bridge on Nuns' Bridges Road.

The upgrade to the bridge over the stream at the north-west corner of Ford Meadow, was carried out as part of the Ford Meadow Fish Pass work in Spring 2023. The Council successfully applied for funding for part of the work under Norfolk County Council's 2022/23 Parish Partnership scheme. But as of August 2023, no work has commenced on this part.
